In Year 7, all pupils at Portland Place have the exciting opportunity to learn an orchestral instrument completely free of charge as part of the Symphonfree scheme! We are delighted to be able to offer lessons for the following instruments for 2019-20:

• Violin
• Viola
• Cello
• Double Bass
• Flute
• Clarinet
• Saxophone
• Trumpet
• Trombone
• Horn

All students Year 7 will receive have weekly, half-hour lessons in groups of two or three for the entire year. Within curriculum lessons pupils will also be part of a larger ensemble, where they will learn music and then perform at concerts throughout the year! As part of the scheme, the school is able to loan instruments to students for the year, also completely free of charge!
